2023-earthquake total raised so far: $5,044,061
Target: $7,000,000
The devastating earthquakes that hit Türkiye and Syria on 6th Feb and again on Mon 20th Feb have created a humanitarian crisis like no other.
As we write this over 54,000 people have tragically lost their lives and millions have been displaced.
The first earthquakes epicentre was near Gaziantep, Türkiye, the largest refugee-hosting region bordering Syria. The subsequent earthquakes hit the already destroyed region of Hatay, again on the border of Turkey and Syria. The shocks could be felt as far as Lebanon and Iraq.
We are in constant contact with our incredible partners on the ground, who despite their own loss and trauma are working tirelessly to save and support as many people as possible with dignity and sensitivity under horrendous conditions. There is desperate need for shelter, medical supplies, recovery equipment, fuel, blankets, food and clean water.
Whole families have been separated or lost, children remain unidentified, traumatised mothers are unable to produce milk to breastfeed. People have been forced to sleep in cars and on the streets, in freezing conditions.
Please donate whatever you can. 100% of the money raised goes directly to our partners on the ground. Every penny really does make a difference.
Thank you.
