Half-a-flipping-Marathon for Refugee's

About this campaign

You gorgeous creatures! You wonderful, lovely beings. I’m once again donning my trainers to schlep my achey body and weary legs, round a half marathon this time to try and raise some money for a cause that’s so close to my heart.

The situation in Afghanistan is dire, complex and urgent. The escalation of violence in an already volatile place is shocking and human rights are being violated everyday. Many are fleeing such horrendous situations only to be met with further hostility and degradation when (or should I say if) they manage to get to a “safer” country.

I’ve been properly researching charities that utilise donations in the best way and Help Refugee’s/Choose Love ensure that 89% of funds go straight to the frontline of these problems. They’re such a transparent charity and currently have an emergency appeal for Afghan Refugee’s. They put the money where its needed - this could mean funding search and rescue boats and missions, providing food and water, providing long term housing etc. Their projects always matter and always make a difference. They support refugee’s from across the globe including South Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen and Palestine (remember them from the news a few months/years ago?, well the issues are still ongoing even though they aren’t being reported anymore).

If you could donate any money to this incredible cause I’d be so very thankful and will promise to run my little heart out for you and for the refugee’s on the 31st October at Coventry Half Marathon.
