I’M GETTING BACK ON MY BIKE!
I first ventured with Thighs of Steel in the summer of 2017 for one week, I loved it so much I went back for more last year as part of the core team.
The team, the project and the pastries have won my heart and thighs again, and I’m looking forward to getting back on my bike this summer to join the gang.
Thighs of Steel has raised over £300,000 so far, with the cyclists collectively covering nearly a third of the circumference of the world; made possible with a concoction of will power, leg power, second breakfast power, and the common desire to put all of that, alongside our luck in the lottery of birth, to good use.
As other things claim the main focus of the news, the European refugee crisis continues. Tens of thousands of people are still fleeing war and persecution, living in inhumane conditions and crossing seas in search of safety. We’re raising money for the brilliant Help Refugees who support grassroots organisations who are working on the ground, providing support where it's most needed.
Thighs of Steel is fun, but it’s also bloody hard. Big ups, big downs, in every sense. I’ll be cycling over 2000km this summer, across the Alps, twice, from Stuttgart to Bratislava as part of the core team and then rejoining later to cycle from Thessonoliki to Athens.
See the website for more about the whys, whats and hows.
Please support in any way you can! It all counts.
Thank you
